Monibi is a French DJ, producer and radio host. Her DJ set and music productions are known for their versatility, weaving Bass & Leftfield House together with elements from the broader dance music spectrum.
She earned her DJ stripes in Cologne, while actively co-curating the DIY label & artist collective Baumusik. The past few years have seen Monibi appear on quite a few prestigious line-ups such as C/O Pop, CTM Vorspiel, United We Stream x Arte and Kompakt's club nights, to name only a few.
Always eager to present eclectic tracks beyond the rave orbit, she has played, among others, for Rinse France, Mutant Radio and Hör Berlin.
After relocating to the German capital, the keen radio host followed up on her Red Light Radio residency with a monthly show - 'Etcetera with Monibi', on THF Radio – a community based project located on the grounds of the former Tempelhof airport.

Forest Love EP is Monibi's second stand-alone release. The 5-tracker is coming out via Diffuse Reality, a Barcelona-based label & party promoter founded in 2013. The imprint's catalog dabs through a broad variety of styles - from Acid, IDM and Techno to Electro, Breakbeat, Downtempo and Ambient.
Monibi's genre bending contribution is a feat born from adversity, as it was produced during the spring of 2021. She'd only just moved to Berlin when the pandemic-related hiatus suddenly paralyzed the whole cultural industry, prompting her to try and make the best out the forced break. Music production helped re-creating a sense of stability: it provided both a creative routine, and a welcomed emotional outlet.
Forest Love EP tangles introspective atmospheric constructions with energetic rhythm patterns. While resolutely stepping away from a classic 4/4 focus, Monibi managed to create a sensible musical trip equally enjoyable from the relaxed confines of an apartment as on a club dance floor.

The EP opens on a slightly melancholic mood. 'Forest Love' is an atmospheric, dubby excursion infused with a vibrant bass.
The second track, 'Lisbon Weather Report' slowly unfolds its trance-inducing spell. The skillfully crafted progression combines a jerky Afro-Cuban rhythm with hypnotic bass meanders and a hint of future bleep .
'New World' is a deep house adjacent tune peppered with alien bass and pads. The track's hypnotic grooves make for a kick-ass DJ tool.
'The First Lady Of Detroit Said' is Monibi's personal tribute to Kelli Hand's unmatched legacy. It was composed following the announcement of K-Hand's death in August 2021. The track – almost a solemn mantra, is built around an inspirational voice sample and infused with emo-strings, as well as bitter-sweet futuristic elements.
The Deep House-leaning 'Love Around' is a nod to another legendary music diva. The track's arp bass and big toms give it the feel of a 90's dance anthem.
